selfishness, your unfaithfulness, your self-deception. Just ask him to do it. Don't wait for intense feelings of remorse and regret to motivate you; they may never come. Don't wait for a time when you are ready to give up your sin; you may never "want" to. If you are comfortable with your sin and feel powerless before it, tell the Lord. Ask him for the power to change. Throw yourself before the source of mercy.

And then change. Take the grace the Lord gives and simply turn away from your sin and turn toward the Lord in holiness.

Source: Let the Fire Fall by Michael It is no random thing or coincidence who comes along. So we had best pay attention to the people who come along in our lives. They are meant to enhance us as a person. How that is to happen is unique to each person and based on their circumstances and situations. But every person we come into contact with daily was planned by God for us. So we have to realize that God is involved with our process of becoming the person He calls us to be."

By Anthony Buono

Daily Life Review - Day 10

How often today did I practice almsgiving equally with money and/or a listening heart?

A Series of Daily Questions from "Finding Spiritual Renewal, Fulfillment and Delight in our busy lives" by Rev. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you--you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?' For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. "So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. We think we begin the process because we are aware of our own activities, but fail to perceive what God is already doing.

Make no mistake about it, God always acts first, whether we notice it or not. Unless God unites with us there is nothing we can do to unite with God. Before we make any decision regarding these things, God is already present and active. It is when he responds to our response, assisting us where we are weak, that we first notice him entering our hearts.
